Project Co-ordinator – Dunfermline

A unique opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, entrepreneurial individual to join our team and make a significant contribution to the growth and development of Hand Picked.

Hand Picked Scotland is a highly successful youth employability initiative set up by CR Smith Chairman, Gerard Eadie CBE. Working closely with businesses, it inspires confidence in young people and actively supports them to get into paid employment.

Due to its continued success we are looking to expand our team with a motivated and passionate individual who can help grow our project. Working alongside the Project Manager the successful candidate will use their own initiative to deliver a wide range of activities to get more young people into work including:

  • Developing, managing and nurturing business relationships in order to increase the numbers of paid job opportunities and training opportunities for young people.
  • Interviewing young people for a range of paid work placements and training opportunities.
  • Facilitating and delivering the Hand Picked Academy and Hand Picked for Schools programme to groups of young people in order to improve their chances of securing mainstream employment.
  • Identifying and building relationships with a range of referral networks including training providers, schools, colleges, third sector agencies and universities.
  • Working closely with secondary schools to deliver employability programmes to classes and providing one-to-one support to individual pupils.
  • Mentoring young people who are about to start their careers.
  • Providing weekly reports to the Project Manager and all other associated project administration.

The role is varied and requires someone with business acumen and a strong interest in working with young people. To be successful you should be an exceptional communicator, be able to work on your own initiative, have an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to inspire others.

The ideal candidate must be highly educated and be willing to undergo further training as the role requires. A driving licence is essential for this position as you will be required to travel across the central belt to fulfil the project objectives.
